Banzai!!

A reasonably productive week this week despite only spending about 10 hours in all in the Bunker.

Firstly I managed to complete three infantry squads and a couple of commanders for my WW2 Imperial Japanese army, all now fully painted, varnished and based (although I am going to add some grass tufts to some of the bases).

As you can see my photographic skills have not improved, and I should also point out these figures were arranged for photographic purposes and not in their correct squad formation.

Support elements are now undercoated and await their turn in the paint queue however, for the Bolt Action game I mentioned last blog, I've discovered I'm using someone else's figures and so suddenly the urgency for getting these done has gone.

With the Japanese off of the priority list I decided to do prep for the next game I'm due to play - a 15mm WW2 game in January using the Rapid Fire ruleset.

I played a 400 point game with my pal Iain Burt last year using the v2 rulebook, we had a fun game but did seem to spend an amount of time looking for certain rules and clarifications (to be fair it was the first time we had played them) and so next year we are going to play using the Reloaded rules which seem very streamlined.

We're going for a 600 point game next time under the assumption that by using the streamlined rules and none of the advanced options we'll comfortably complete the game in the allotted time. I will obviously feedback to this blog once the game has occurred.

With my love of painting (not) I have decided that the extra 200 points will come in the form of armour, and so I give you my armoured reinforcements, freshly painted this week and now just waiting for basing and possibly some weathering.

I tried valiantly to put decals of the 7th Armoured Division on these today, with mixed success - the Desert Rat emblem especially had a habit of falling apart the moment I tried to position it. All have some sort of marking/designation on them, not all obviously apparent from my pictures, apart from the poor old Crocodile (which has been added to the force just intimidate Iain as we found his flame-throwing infantry rather nasty last game so time for a taste of his own medicine).
