Bonus Productivity!

I ended my last blog entry saying that I would probably delay the next one (that is to say this one) as I could not see me getting much done in the week - how wrong I was!!

Firstly the next (and penultimate for now) batch of hoplites were assembled and painted.

And then, to continue the Greek theme, I assembled and painted some archers. These are by Victrix although some heads have been switched in from other kits - no sure the helmeted one has any basis in historical fact but it looked interesting. The nice thing about these figures are the deep folds in the tunics that really lends itself to painting with contrast paints - still my favourite medium.

Whilst some of the contrasts and washes were drying on the Greeks I decided to paint the remaining epic scale Leman Russ's - I'm happy with how these turned out and the tank commanders have determine the colour of the infantry for the army once I get round to doing them. These were also painted primarily with contrast paints - the deep details facilitating shadows and highlights.

And finally, a couple of robots to be used in Stargrave (which had its planned game postponed a couple of weeks) - an excuse to use some more of the Army Painter metallics paints I pick up from an online sale (I think the set is are no longer being produced - certainly as this pack). These have been some of the best metallic paints I've used - coverage is good with rarely a need for a second coat and happy to be painted on white. rather than black undercoat.

As always not convinced my amateur photography does them justice, maybe a little too dark.

Next week expect more Greeks (Zzzz...) and who knows what else...

Oh for goodness sake!

Looking good. Those tanks are so cute. I'm tempted.
