As the title says, this week I finished the 28mm Greeks needed for a SAGA game with Mr. Burt to be held in the Bunker in May.
Firstly the last unit of Hoplites (based on one point of SAGA warriors).
I then assembled and painted a levy of slingers which I need not have brought as they are no different than archers under the SAGA rule (if I've read them right) - so I may end up getting some javelin men and/or peltast to give me options in my force.
These are by Victrix and really suit contrast paints because of the deep folds in the tunics and reasonably textured limbs.
All that remains is for me to deal with the bases of all of the Greek figures - I've ordered various 'stuff' to do this job and so that will probably happen in the next few weeks.
And finally a couple of epic scale Malcador tanks, maybe not the most exciting paint scheme but, as I've probably said previously, I think it works.
Actually managed to have a game this week (Aliens: Another Glorious Day in the Corps) at the local club but sadly neglected to take any pictures. For the first time ever the Marines actually won, with the loss of only one man (Frost - we forgot to give him a backup weapon as he cannot use his flamer to defend himself in close combat - oops).
So what next for the hobby table....
An 18th century unit in preparation for a game in Newark next month?
More epic scale Legion Imperialis figures?
Ancient Greek ships that have been waiting painting for an age?
28mm ACW figures for Sharpe Practice - started and then abandoned?
Some toy cars for use with Gaslands?
More cowboys as you can never have too many!?
Or something totally random
All will be revealed next blog!
Lovely Greeks, mate. The Contrast paint has worked very well on the slingers.
