I'm All Over the Place!

A slight delay in posting due to real world stuff taking me away from the bunker, but here it is.

I seem to have spent the last couple of weeks jumping from project to project having no real focus. This may slow the delivery of things but on the other hand does keep things interesting.

Firstly I painted these little devils (well Magmites officially) ready for a game of Stargrave.

These formed part of a scenario that myself and Tim Thompson played in the Bunker - grabbing loot dispersed around a hostile moon with streams of lava and hostile wildlife to

contend with.

Having actually played a game it was back to the serious business of putting paint on things.

The next 'thing' to be painted was the second unit for the Ayton Men Who Would Be King game in April. These are a detachment of Rabbennisten Jaegers, light infantry renown for their riflemanship and the only regiment permitted to wear the forage cap in inverted colours (i.e. the pom-pom is in the national colour and not the regiment colours, and visa-versa for the cap colour).

I decided a little while ago to abandon my idea of painting up some 25mm Napoleonic figures for Sharpes Practice in favour of using 25mm ACW figures as these would be easier to paint.

To that end I assembled and painted my first detachment of infantry for the period and decided to start with Zouaves. As you can hopefully see from the below pictures these turned out to be about as complex as a Napoleonic uniforms, so ease of painting objective failed.

I learnt a couple of lesson doing this unit and so the next couple I do will be slightly easier, and once those two are done it's on to the more simplistic uniforms.

Finally I finished a few survivors for Zombie based games.

Numerous other bits were 'prepped' but these won't appear on here until finished.

Update ends.

Very impressive output. Seriously putting me to shame.

I particularly like the zouaves.
