A late post due to it being Mrs. P's birthday which resulted in numerous days out generally involving friends, food, drink and more drink.
Last week I actually managed to play a game!!
Peter Hall ran a Bolt Action Korean game at the local club which only used the basic infantry rules and so served as a good introduction to a system I've never played before, but do have a basic understanding of.
The game was fun and involved me as the North Korean commander trying to overrun a US MASH facility guarded by Marines. My tactics were far from subtle, basically charging up the table as fast a possible using Chinese conscript troops to shield the better troops. At one point in the game my political officer was causing more casualties to the conscripts than the Marines as he 'encouraged' them forward.
The US won the day though holding me off just long enough to get their last helicopter airborne.
Getting fired at at short range was brutal with entire units being wiped out and close combat (if conducted at short range) proved to be very bloody for the defender.
And now some pictures (all the terrain and figures are Peter's)......
As for hobby progress, well there has not been a lot really, but I did finish my tanks ready for the January game, these were based and muddied up (don't think the latter is clear in the pictures).
