It's Almost All Greek To Me!

A post without a huge gap between it and the last - hurrah!!

The Bunker week started with a game of Stargrave against local Tim and marked the start of a new campaign from the Quarantine 37 book. I did take a picture of the game set-up but on reviewing it decided it was far too uninteresting to share. I'll get some better pictures when we play again (if I remember).

The main hobby task this week was the progression of the 28mm Greek Hoplites. I think these turned out a little better than the first batch.

I've made the decision that I would not worry to much about the historical colour of clothing and shields i.e. some of the dye/paint colours may not have been available at the time, although, that said, I'm not intending to go too zany e.g. no neon pinks.

The next batch have been assembled and undercoated - I spent a little more time cleaning them up this time having seen the close up of the last figures when I posted them.

Alongside finishing these I did a test paint job on a Leman Russ tank from the Legions Imperialis starter box - a Christmas pressy from Mrs. P.

Before I show the picture I'd just like to say it was a real joy assembling these (there are four in all), they went together really well with absolutely now swearing from yours truly.

Anyway here is the test paint job..

I think it looks rather nice - simple but effective (apologies to Games Workshop for not using any canonical schemes). The little square of colour on the turret was inspired by the British tank ID markings from the First World War, I've chosen to keep it discreet rather than have large stripes to the front of the hull sides (as below).

And having posted the picture of the actual tank I realise I've reversed the colours - doh!!

Until next time, have a better one!! (spoiler: it'll be more Greeks)

Very nice Mr P. You'll have done your whole army in a couple of weeks!
