Out of Hibernation!

With a cold winter and rising electricity costs the Bunker has pretty much been out of bounds for the last few months (the Bunkers heating all being electric ). However with temperatures getting a little more reasonable and a couple of games planned for the venue later this month, as of yesterday it is back in business (now watch an ice storm hit Norfolk next week!).

That's not say that things haven't happened since my last blog entry.

In November Tim Hall organised a weekend of gaming using his splendid 25mm ACW figure collection.

In January Iain Burt hosted a 18th Century game in his 'shed' using his splendid 20mm collection. (Same adjective used for both collection to ensure no bias)

Meanwhile with the shed not fully usable I managed to use the home office as a base of operations to assemble these TTC Fantasy buildings which had sat on the pending pile since last June (or maybe even December 2021), finally finished them this week.

Not clear from the collection of photos but there are a lot of them, easily enough to fill a board for playing Frostgrave, Mordheim or similar.

Next task will be to seal these and then start to add some colour.

Also assembled in the office were a reasonable amount of Project Z figures; survivors, bike gang, special forces and of course Zombies.

The former I'll put up once they have some colour on them, but I did manage to paint the Zombies when we had a couple of milder days.

The white based Zombies have since had their bases coloured.

And now the almost obligatory first post of the year declaration on planned work for the upcoming year.

Over the next couple of weeks I have a couple of games of Stargrave arranged - these will be a start of a campaign. I have the initial figures and scenery prepared but would imagine there will be additions to the collection as the campaign progresses.

At the end of April I will be attending Ayton where a colonial based game is being run - I have the figures purchased (and gifted) to create my force and so I would imagine I'll start work on these shortly.

As mentioned earlier I will be painting the Fantasy buildings and to supplement this will probably build a couple of Mordheim and/or Frostgrave adventuring bands so I can run some games using this impressive terrain.

Then there is:

  • Painting the contemporary buildings assembled last year.

  • Paint survivors, bikers and Spec Forces figures for Project Z

  • Assembling and painting several Marvel figures.

  • Assembling and painting ACW units for Sharpes Practice

  • Finish some part complete Titans for Adeptus Titanicus

  • Start 28mm Roman force for Impetus

  • Paint 15mm 'Nam forces

  • Finish other bits I've started but have currently forgotten

  • Start random new stuff as I see shiny bits on the web....

A few things to get on with and hopefully on top of this getting some games in.

That's all for now folks - have a better one!!

Ah ha, you're back on the blogging thing (I must post something on my blog). Nice post.

Those fantasy buildings are awesome. I wonder if I should paint my Redout 'Three Musketeers' figures and threaten to bring them to our next game! On top of all the other stuff I've promised to do, of course.

Did you finish the 18thC cavalry?
