It has been quiet here for quite a while but things are slowly restarting.
Firstly I finally finished the C18th Infantry unit I've mentioned several times before - well finished painting at least.
These are again from the fictional country of Rabennisten and are part of the Household Brigade. The Household Brigade is made up of three 'non-standard' Infantry regiments, the Jaegers, Guard and Fusiliers.
Below are the Jaegers - they wear the traditional colours of Rabennisten infantry, obviously with regiment specific colour cuffs and trim, but are distinguished by the short fusil headdress. (Yes, in my mind there is a formal uniform code for the force).
The second unit completed this week is the Household Guard regiment. These are easily distinguished from the rest of the army as their uniform colours are switched compared to other infantry units i.e. the cuffs and trim are the standard infantry uniform colour whilst the tunic is in the regimental colour and they wear grenadier headwear.
This last unit was initially painted with contrasts but the colours used came out rather dark and so I have done some dry brushing to try and bring some depth to them - as always phots probably don't do them justice.
My next job is to base both of these units and create some flags, that'll be done next week.
I had hoped to have another unit complete by the 10th September (when I'm next playing a game) but think that is unlikely now as I've committed to running another online RPG and so need to invest time in getting that ready - but who knows I could have a change of heart next week.
So what's to follow?
Well Mr. Burt has shared a couple of pictures of some beautifully painted 20mm Persians he has done for which I have Greek Hoplite opponents - so I guess some test painting of these will need to be done soon.
Then I've foolishly brought quite a few 15mm Vietnam figures, so these too will need a test paint.
And then there's the Marvel, Moonstone, Wild West, Sci-fi and more C18th figures to paint, fantasy buildings to construct and paint, contemporary building to colour - so much to do and, well quite a lot of time to do it really.
Stay tuned to this station for what happens next!!
All looking very splendid, Mr P. Looking forward to seeing them all flagged up and based......next week!!!!!
